Scope and app data

This policy covers the riffCapture website and iOS app. The app may store recordings, folders, favorites, app settings and editing or playback information needed to record, edit, organize and export riffs.

riffCapture requests microphone access to record audio. App data is processed locally on your device unless you use Apple services such as iCloud backup, App Store features or the feedback form.

Storage, iCloud and deletion

Recordings and app data remain on your device until you delete them in the app, reset the app data or uninstall the app. Depending on your iOS backup settings, Apple's device backup may include this local data.

If you enable riffCapture's optional iCloud backup, recordings and metadata are copied to your private CloudKit database so you can restore them on devices using the same Apple ID. The backup uses your iCloud storage and can be disabled or deleted in the app.

Website

When this website is accessed, technical access data may be processed to deliver the page and keep it secure. The website sets no own cookies and contains no analytics or tracking script. It loads Google Fonts and GSAP via jsDelivr, so technical data may be transmitted to those providers.

Apple services and feedback

If you install riffCapture through the App Store, Apple may process download, account, crash or aggregated usage data under Apple's own privacy terms. Midnite Compile GmbH only receives aggregated information where Apple provides it.

If you send feedback from the app, Midnite Compile GmbH receives your message and, if provided, your contact detail. riffCapture does not transmit your Apple ID for feedback.

Rights and contact

You have GDPR rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction, data portability and objection. Because most app data is local, you can delete it directly in the app or by uninstalling it. For privacy questions, email office@midnitecompile.com; complaints may be filed with the Austrian Data Protection Authority at www.dsb.gv.at.

Changes

This privacy information will be updated when the app, website, external services or legal requirements change.
